چکیده
We report an experimental investigation of turbulence in bubble plumes released unstratified quiescent water. The focus is to study the detailed turbulent statistics and budget terms equations kinetic energy (TKE), particularly about their distributions radial direction compared those single-phase momentum jets buoyant plumes. Two types diffusers were used generate consisting different sizes population at same source gas discharge. have growth behaviors under combination population: with many small bubbles show decreasing centerline velocities along vertical direction; larger but fewer a tighter core, smaller spreading ratio, almost constant velocities. ratio turbulence-to-mean flux strongly affected by population, demonstrated profiles normalized velocity correlations using mean flow parameterizations. Velocity fluctuations strong vertical-to-horizontal anisotropy Strong fluctuating component contributes significant role re-shaping stresses transport when plume composed bubbles. Local balance cannot be established equation TKE traditionally for flows. A bubble-related term governing needed close budget. An empirical drag force slip validated closure. provide diagram illustrate pathway direction, magnitude each influenced characteristics.

Interactional effects of bubble size, particle size, and collector dosage on bubble loading in column flotation
The success of flotation operation depends upon the thriving interactions of chemical and physical variables. In this work, the effects of particle size, bubble size, and collector dosage on the bubble loading in a continuous flotation column were investigated. In other words, this work was mainly concerned with the evaluation of the true flotation response to the changes in the operating varia...

Gas Transfer in Diffused Bubble Plumes
The gas transfer in aeration systems is broken into two processes: gas transfer at the bubble interface and gas transfer at the water surface. Experiments were conducted to separate these two sources of dissolved gas. Oxygen absorption was measured in a laboratory tank with air being diffused through a porous diffuser and then with nitrogen gas being diffused. The combination of these experimen...
متن کاملNumerical Simulation of Scaling Effect on Bubble Dynamics in a Turbulent Flow around a Hydrofoil
A Lagrangian-Eulerian numerical scheme for the investigation of bubble motion in turbulent flow is developed. The flow is analyzed in the Eulerian reference frame while the bubble motion is simulated in the Lagrangian one. Finite volume scheme is used, and SIMPLEC algorithm is utilized for the pressure and velocity linkage. The Reynolds stresses are modeled by the RSTM model of Launder. Upwind ...
متن کاملDetermination of Bubble Size Distributions in Bubble Columns Using LDA
A new method is developed for the determination of bubble size distributions from experimental laser Doppler anemometry (LDA) data through simultaneous measurement of only two orthogonal velocity components and the intermittent time gaps arising out of bubbles passing through the measurement point. An experimentally verifiable assumption of axisymmetry allowed the calculation of the three-dimen...
